The endangered species act was formatted in 1970’s to ensure the safety of animals and plants that are close to extinction. This can be called as the first legal step taken towards this direction and it included many activities that were made to safeguard these species’ life. The first part of this act was to formulate a list of endangered species to get acquainted with the animals that are facing danger from poachers and other environmental factors. The next part was to take due course of action to maintain the safety. The government and ministers of today’s age are only concerned about the first one that is to make a list of endangered species and are neglecting the actions that should be followed post formulation of list. This case is not evident in each region because many officials are quite aware and taking proper steps but unfortunately this negligence is seen in majority of areas.

Ideally the act required the concerned officials to make some recovery strategies to ensure the safety and to provide natural habitat to the animals. This is nowhere seen in recent governments of all parts of world and as a result experts are predicting mass extinctions due on the cards. The environmentalists and scientists are calling these people to take all the steps involved in the act to ensure the animals security. After compilation, the act suggests that the government should immediately execute some plans or schemes to build reserves or similar alternatives to decrease the death rate of these rare animals.
If asked to government then they post it to the fact that there are more serious and upfront issues for them to handle. Experts also suggest them to encourage local people to undertake the activity of farming these animals and in return give them some kinds of rewards to reduce your load. The first part of this act is regularly followed by all of them but the later is completely neglected. The conditions in 70’s were still better when this act was formulated but now the situations are worst owing to the increase in number of poachers, forced land acquisitions and pollution. All these factors are contributing to make the animal’s life total hell as they don’t have enough food to eat, don’t have shelter to live and moreover are killed just for their meat or skin. This is the reason naturalists are suggesting these authorities to revoke the act and take necessary steps early to save the treasures of life.
